The Legend of Mount Krakatoa
About 132 years occurred the biggest eruption the world has ever known. Indonesia's Mount Krakatoa erupted and did with a tremendous force and sent a trillion cubic feet of rock pumice and ash into the air. Wind streams blew ash all the way to New York! It had a noise loud enough to be heard in Australia (over 1,000 miles away). The aftermath of this forceful eruption caused a huge tidal wave, also known as a tsunami. Mount Krakatoa's monstrous eruption caused 36, 417 deaths and destroyed 165 villages and towns.
